General Notes: Husband - Thomas Sharp, Sr.

He evidently settled on his plantation near Fair Hill, in Cecil County, Maryland, (just west of the New Munster boundary) about the year 1719. It was part of the 2000-acre tract originally patented, in 1713, to James Carroll, under the name "Society." The deed from Charles Carroll, assignee, to Thomas Sharp of May 20, 1719, refers to the 240 acres conveyed as "Guill Glass". The Carrolls did not settle this tract. Its location is permanently fixed by becoming the site of "Sharp's Graveyard."
When the plantation eventually passed by the will of Thomas Sharp, Jr., (1785) to Thomas Sharp III it contained about 500 acres.
