General Notes: Husband - Samuel Alexander Steele
He received his education in the public school, and was a life-long tiller of the soil. He was an elder in the Reformed Presbyterian or Covenanter church in New Alexandria, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the militia, but took no part in politics.
He was born in Ireland and was an infant when his parents crossed the Atlantic to the New World. His early years were passed in Salem township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he became engaged in farming and stock raising. He died while still in the prime of life. He was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church.
