General Notes: Husband - James Weddle


He was born at Elizabeth, in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and settled in Sewickley township. He learned the trade of blacksmith which he followed for a short time, and then (1862) engaged in his present business of farming. He was a republican, served for twenty years as school director and held all the other various township offices.

He was born on the family homestead in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and was a blacksmith, following his trade at McKeesport, Reagantown and West Newton. At forty years of age he gave up the business and bought a farm in Sewickley township, which was his home until two years prior to his death when he moved to West Newton and there passed the remainder of his life. He was interested in local affairs and held various minor offices, among them that of school director.

He learned the blacksmith's trade, and until forty years of age followed his trade at McKeesport, Reagantown and West Newton, Pennsylvania. He then abandoned his trade, bought a farm in Sewickley township and there resided until eleven years prior to his death. He then moved to West Newton and lived retired until his death. He took active part in town affairs, and held several offices, including school director.
