General Notes: Husband - Thomas Merrick


With three brothers and probably one sister he came to America on the ship "James" in the spring of 1636. He is recorded as being in Roxbury, Massachusetts, in 1636 and on Jan. 3, 1638, in Agawam, the Indian name for Springfield. With five others he was appointed to draw up the boundaries of the Plan­tation (Springfield). On Jan. 13, 1638, he was one who made a contribution for the purpose of building a home for the minister.
