General Notes: Husband - Col. Isaac Meason
After his father's death, he succeeded to his father's business, and lived for many years at New Haven, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. His children were nine in number.
The Meason family were kind and generous to the poor, yet at the same time governed by a high sense of honor in their intercourse with equals. This is shown by the fact that Isaac Meason, the brother of George, also appealed to the code of honor, once so fashionable among the chivalrous men of the country. The story runs that the fight was about a lady. A silver dollar in his vest-pocket saved his life in the duel.
