General Notes: Husband - Philo Hamlin Banks
After a course at the Mifflin Academy, he entered the Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and graduated from that institution in the class of 1901. After graduation, he served for a short time as resident physician at the Jefferson hospital. The Boer war was going on at this time and he was appointed as physician and surgeon on the "Montcalm," an English merchant vessel plying between New Orleans and South Africa. On the return trip of his first voyage, he contracted typhoid fever and died at New Orleans.
