General Notes: Husband - William McLeod

---

He was from near Inverness, Scotland. He served in the British army for several years during the famous siege of Gibraltar, but on the raising of the siege he received his discharge and came to America on a sight-seeing expedition. There he met his fate in an Irish girl, married her, and settled on a farm in Washington township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, near the headwaters of little Puckety Creek. There they raised their family and lived out their lives.
