General Notes: Husband - Joseph Baldrige

Joseph Baldridge, Esq., the paternal ancestor of the Baldridge family, lived on the Loyalhanna in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. His residence, a spacious and expensive one for his day, was still standing in the late 1800s on the lower road from Youngstown to Latrobe. He was a millwright by trade, and built a mill on that stream in 1804. When he came over the mountains he brought his sister with him. She rode on a horse which also carried his bundle of earthly goods, while he walked by the side. He died in 1840, a very wealthy man of his day. [HWC 1882, 589]

After his first marriage they moved from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, to Westmoreland County.
He bought a large tract of land on Loyalhanna creek, built a flouring-mill and engaged in milling and farming.
