General Notes: Husband - John Porter, Jr.

He was the first of the Porter name who settled (1782) in Allegany County, Maryland. He first purchased a farm near Mt. Savage, supposed to be in Maryland, but afterward found to be in Pennsylvania; on this account he sold it, and purchased another farm near Mt. Savage. He subsequently sold this farm and settled on one near the Eckhart mine, where he later died.
