General Notes: Husband - John Henlen Sigworth
In his fifth year he came with his parents to what is now Fryburg, Clarion County, PA, where he spent the remainder of his life. His entire schooling was nine weeks of German subscription school, this being before free schools in Pennsylvania.
At one time he was elected constable.
The summer following his marriage he built a hewed log house on a 100-acre tract of woodland that he had bought. This land was one mile from his father's home. In this house nine children were born and grew to manhood and womanhood, and started out in our life's work. He spent all his days on the farm, only being out of the state twice. In 1853, he and Uncle Jesse Neely made a trip to Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa, and in 1864 to the battlefields of Virginia.
