General Notes: Husband - Charles D. McMurray

He made his home at Madera, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. For some years he followed lumbering, but later was engaged in the mercantile business.

He resided in Amesville until the death of his wife, and soon afterward, in 1890, he removed to Ansonville and became interested in mercantile pursuits. He came to own one of the largest stores in that town.

He attended the district schools and afterward went to work in the woods lumbering but later embarked in a mercantile business at Ansonville, to which he came in 1883, and continued for twenty-seven years. He then resumed lumbering and came to be thus interested in Beccaria Township and also in Cambria County.
He and his wife attended the Methodist Episcopal church at Ansonville. He was a Democrat in his political sentiments and frequently served in public office, for six years being township treasurer, for five years auditor, and also township clerk and school director. He was a member of Curwensville Lodge, F. & A. M., and of the Odd Fellows at Ansonville, and belonged also to the Encampment at Glen Hope.
