He was connected with the Valentine Iron Works at Bellefonte, Centre County, Pennsylvania, and for years took an active part in the business interests of Bellefonte and vicinity. During the war of the Rebellion he was for a time in the service, and contributed largely toward the support of the soldiers and their families.
