General Notes: Husband - Thomas Jefferson Stevenson

After receiving a good practical education in the local schools and in Duff's Business College, he became identified with the Pennsylvania Salt Company, located at Natrona, Pennsylvania, where he then resided, and where he served as postmaster for one year. In 1866 he severed his connection with the Pennsylvania Salt Company, and began his long connection with the pipe-manufacturing concern then known as Graff, Byers & Company, later as Byers, McCullough & Company, still later as A. M. Byers & Company, and finally as A. M. Byers & Company, Inc. Through all the changes and reorganizations indicated by these changes in the firm style Mr. Stevenson served in the financial departments, a period of thirty-four years, and holding at the time of his death the official position of secretary and treasurer of the company.
In addition to his responsibilities in connection with A. M. Byers & Company, Inc., he was also a member of the board of directors of the Monongahela National Bank, the Equitable Trust Company, and the Traders and Mechanics and Manufacturers' Bank. He was also interested in the firm of Ripley & Company, later the United States Glass Company.
Politically, he gave his support to the Republican Party. During the later years of his life he resided at No. 714 Aiken Avenue and East End, Pittsburgh, and though he was reared a "Covenanter" he in later years became a member of the Shadyside Presbyterian Church, of which he was a regular attendant and an earnest supporter.

General Notes: Wife - Sarah Mary McKee
