General Notes: Husband - Thomas McIntyre
The McIntyre family has closely conformed to its Scottish tendencies and its religious traditions by the part it has played in the establishment and promotion of the Presbyterian Church in western Pennsylvania. It was transferred from the eastern to the western slopes of the Alleghanies by Thomas McIntyre.
As a young farmer, he settled at what is now Vandergrift, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. There he became widely known as a sturdy husbandman and an earnest Presbyterian.
