General Notes: Husband - Daniel Simpson

[He came from Ireland to America and] settled at Brandywine, Pennsylvania, where he became chief gardener for the head of the DuPont Powder Manufacturing Company. Four years later he removed with his daughter, Hannah, to Hempfield township, Westmoreland County, and settled on the old Blackburn farm, which adjoined the home of John and James Fulton. In old age he removed to New Alexandria, where he lived to the venerable age of ninety-four years. He was connected with the old Reformed or Covenanter Church at Greensburg, in which he occupied the post of elder.
