He received a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Gove City College in 1942. He served in the Navy an WWII and moved to New Jersey in 1949. He worked as as electronics engineer with I.T.T. Nutley for 38 years before retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Roseland Board of Education from 1962-68, and was a former member of the Roseland Presbyterian Church.
