He was a Presbyte-rian minister, first located in Peoria, Illinois, then at Santa Fe, New Mexico; then at San Diego, California, and finally be-came a missionary to the Indians, and died at Lapwai, Idaho; his widow afterward went into the Alaska mission field, being the first woman there.
