General Notes: Husband - John Carson McAllister

---

He studied medicine with Dr. Rutherford, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, at Philadelphia. He started the practice of medicine at Fairview, Cumberland County, "and was liked by all, both professionally and socially." He was married but a short time when he became an invalid, was brought to Fort Hunter with his wife and baby, and died there. He was buried in the family grave yard on the Fort Hunter farm.
