Their children:
1. Daniel M. Mitchell, born in 1784.
2. Ormsby McKnight Mitchell, born July 28, 1809, in Union County, Kentucky.
3. [Unk] Mitchell; she was married to a Presbyterian clergyman in Lebanon, Ohio.

Gen. Ormsby M. Mitchell entered West Point in 1825, graduated 1829, fifteenth in the class in which Robert E. Lee stood second. He was distinguished as an Astronomer, and as a General during the Civil War. By his efforts the Cincinnati Observatory was erected and dedicated in 1845, and he was the first American to do anything of consequence in furthering the science of Astronomy. His military career was cut short by yellow fever in 1862, when an epidemic was raging in the South. His death happened near Beaufort, South Carolina.
He married in 1831, Mrs. Louisa (Clark) Trask, of Cornwall-on-the-Hudson. She died in 1861, and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, New York.
They were the parents of six children, three girls and three boys, including:
F. A. Mitchell, an author of East Orange, New Jersey.
E. M. Mitchell, he was a Captain in the Civil War; died in 1873.
