General Notes: Husband - Wilbur W. Moore
He was reared on the farm and obtained a good education at the public schools. He left the farm at the age of twenty-one years, going to Youngstown, Ohio, where he was employed in a wholesale and retail dry goods house up to August, 1904, when the W. W. Moore Company was organized. This concern succeeded the Henry Dry Goods Company, which firm had succeeded the old firm of C. M. Rice, one of the early and better known mercantile establishments of Sharon, Pennsylvania. Interested with Mr. Moore was Frank M. Rice, son of the founder of the business. The third member of the W. W. Moore Company was Charles Gauchat. The business was conducted under a stock company organized in August, 1904, doing a prosperous business in dry goods, carpets, millinery and wall paper.
