He emigrated to Pennsylvania and settled at Shippensburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, where he became a leading man in the community and at one time conducted the Shippensburg News. He was a fluent writer and wrote many valuable articles relating to the early history of Shippensburg and its neighborhood.
