General Notes: Husband - William McCullough
He immigrated to Washington County, PA, in 1784, where he remained until the spring of 1794, at which time he, in company with his two eldest sons, went to Mercer County and located on land now in East Lackawannock Township, to where he, in the year 1796, brought his entire family.
Emigrating from his native country to America in the latter part of the eighteenth century William McCullough settled first in Chester, PA, and later removed to Washington County, and from there to Mercer County, about 1796. He bought land in East Lackawannock Township, becoming one of its original householders. The region was then in its primitive wildness, game of all kinds was abundant, and the Indians far outnumbered the white settlers. Clearing a portion of his land, he was there employed in tilling the soil during the remainder of his life, living until upwards of ninety years old. [HMC 1909, 895]
