General Notes: Husband - Joseph Sykes
He was a manufacturer of wagons and learned his trade in his native country.
He came to Mercer, Pennsylvania, in 1829 and opened up a shop. Silvanus Perkins, of Meadville, was in partnership with him from 1835 to 1837. Many of the old wagons used in hauling goods from eastern cities to that part of the state were manufactured by him.
