General Notes: Husband - James Harvey Summerville
He was educated in the district schools of North Buffalo township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, and after completing his educational training entered into an apprenticeship at the carpenter's trade in Kittanning. He was long identified with carpenter work and erected a number of prominent buildings in Clarion County. In 1865 he purchased a farm in Porter township, Clarion County, and from that year until a short time prior to his death he was engaged in farming. In addition to his farming he was interested in various oil projects, meeting with success in that line of enterprise.
There were nine children born to him and his wife; five were still living in 1912.
