General Notes: Husband - John Williams

He was of Welsh extraction, and when he married they made their home in Coshocton County, Ohio, where his wife died in 1821. In 1826 he removed from Ohio to near Freeport, Pennsylvania, and there followed millwrighting until he came to Punxsutawney, where he was engaged as a cabinetmaker for three years. He then he settled in the vicinity of Cloe, having purchased one hundred acres of timberland, including most of the land where Cloe was later situated. Eight years later he sold to his son James, and erected a gristmill at Perrysville which he operated for some time. He spent his last years in retirement, with his sons.

He was a nephew of Benoni Williams.
