He accompanied his parents to Indiana County, Pennsylvania, at an early date, and they lived on his farm of 300 acres in Conemaugh township.

He was the ancestor of the Hazlets of Latrobe.

Another source gives a very different list of his children: Sarah J., Mary, James C., William J., John N., Francis F., Margaret A., and David L.
