General Notes: Husband - Thomas Bartholomew McClurg
His entire life was passed amid the advantages which wealth affords, and his education was received in the schools of his native city. On reaching manhood he relieved his father of the cares of his large estate, which he managed many years with the aid of his younger brother, Joseph. On the death of the latter he became sole trustee, and after his decease no error was found in the accounts. He died, leaving no male descendant of his father, two sisters and a grand-niece being the only near relatives that survived him. Because of his retired life, he was little known in the city.
