General Notes: Husband - Thomas McClurg

About 1789 he migrated to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and patented from the state six hundred acres of land in what later became the south side of the city. (The family mansion stood on the site where the American Iron-works later stood.) He was possessed of ample means, and left his family a handsome inheritance.
