General Notes: Husband - William McClure

He was born in County Down, Ireland, not far from Banbridge. He was a millwright, hard-working and simple in his manner of life. Had it not been for his choice of a wife, his branch of the family would in all probability still be resident in Ireland. He fixed his affections upon a maiden of higher birth and caste than he, she returning his devotion, and because her family could not be reconciled to the match, the young couple came to the United States soon after their marriage. They first made their home in Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, later going to Pittsburgh, in order to take advantage of the more lucrative business opportunities offered in his line. He there followed his trade until his death.
