General Notes: Husband - James Neel
He was a Scotchman, and one of the pioneers of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He and his wife were members of Lebanon Presbyterian Church.
From Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, they crossed the mountains with their belongings in wagons drawn by horses. They settled in Versailles township, Allegheny County, at what was known as "Long Run Place," but later he moved to Mifflin township, where he took up a large tract of land on Thompson's Run and there ended his days, a farmer and a strict Presbyterian.
