General Notes: Husband - Joseph Sheirer


He was born near Londonderry, Ireland, came to America as a youth and settled on a farm at what is now Paxtang Township, Dauphin County, where he later, after serving as a captain in Colonel James Burd's Battalion of Associators, Lancaster County. He was also a member of the Committee of Observation from that county, was elected a member of the first Constitutional Convention of Pennsylvania and became one of the outstanding patriots of that section.
