General Notes: Husband - James McClelland


He had hunted and traveled over much of the territory now included in the counties of Armstrong, Indiana, Jefferson and Clarion, Pennsylvania, in company with Joseph Marshall and Benjamin Irwin. He and his wife settled in Indiana County, near Mahoning creek, in what was known as The Loop, where they resided during their lives. He farmed in summer and lumbered in winter. He was among the first pilots along Mahoning creek. He was noted as a successful pike fisher. He taught school a few winters.

He settled in Porter township, Jefferson County, in 1803, and in 1823 removed to the "Willow Spring" farm, later occupied by his son John.
