General Notes: Husband - Archibald Marshall


About 1800 he and his wife moved out to Indiana County, Pennsylvania, where his parents and brothers already resided, and there they lived until 1814, when he sold out and removed to Armstrong County, purchasing land about one and a half miles from the present site of the borough of Dayton. He and his sons cleared away brush to make room for a cabin. They had no stable, the horses standing hitched to the trees, and the sheep had to be brought indoors over night to save them from the wolves. There Mr. and Mrs. Marshall lived the rest of their lives.
