General Notes: Husband - George Bell McClenahen

There is conflicting information in various sources about the early generations of the Wingate and McClenahen families. Dates and connections given in [HJV 1913, 1273] do not seem compatible.

For fifty years he was the "village blacksmith" at Milroy, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, having learned his trade early in life. He was one of the charter members of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and he and his wife were members of the Presbyterian church.
