General Notes: Husband - Jonathan McWilliams
He was reared from earliest boyhood to the arduous duties of farm life, his winter months being for a few years devoted to attending the subscription and common schools of the neighborhood. After marriage, he and his wife remained on the McWilliams home place until 1871, in which year they moved to Claysville, where they then resided. They were members of the Presbyterian Church, and in politics Mr. McWilliams was a lifelong Democrat. He was been a farmer all his days, but later was living retired, having accumulated a satisfactory competence. Like his father, he was progressive in the extreme, and in the management of schools he was zealous, active and useful in the community.
