General Notes: Husband - Sebastian Musser

This surname was formerly spelled "Moser", and while the Penn's Valley, Pennsylvania, branch adopted the spelling "Musser", various forms are found among the other branches of the family in the different parts of the United States.

He settled on a place adjoining the Penn township line as early as 1789. He had, however, visited the valley [Penn's valley?] in 1778 and made a purchase, but the depreciation of Continental money interfered with it. He left a large number of descendants.

He was the first of this line to settle in Centre County, Pennsylvania. He and his wife had only one child, born in Northampton County in 1785, and a few years later the little family came to Centre County.
