General Notes: Husband - Samuel Patterson
He was born on what was later known as the "Mill Property" in Cross Creek township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. He was reared on the home farm, and, when a young man, took charge of the mill for a few years. In 1825 he came to the place later occupied by Robert M. Patterson, and passed the rest of his life in agricultural pursuits, making a specialty of raising fine-wooled sheep.
In 1846 he purchased a farm in eastern Virginia, whither he removed with his family and died there.
