General Notes: Husband - Zebulon Cooper, Sr.

He grew to maturity in his native county, and in 1796 accompanied his uncle, Nathaniel Cooper, to Butler County, Pennsylvania. They purchased a tract of 500 acres of land in what is now Slip-pery Rock township, situated on both sides of Wolf creek, upon which they settled in 1798. Zebulon retained 390 acres, and his uncle the balance. On this farm he spent the remaining years of his life. After making his settlement and erecting a cabin, he returned to Washington county and married. He and his wife were members of Plain Grove Presbyterian church. In politics, he was a Whig in early life, and afterwards a Republican.
