General Notes: Husband - John McCandless
He was the first white male child born in Centre Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania.
He was known as 'Judge John' because he was one of the two first men elected as Associate Judges for Butler County when that office was made elective in 1851. John McCandless and his wife were first buried in the Butler cemetery located at the corner of North and McKean Streets. Later they, with others, were reinterred in the North cemetery, Butler.

She was born on the "Partnership Farm," about seven miles northwest of the town of Butler, in Butler County, PA.
