General Notes: Husband - Samuel Russell

---

He attended the schools of the neighborhood, and upon attaining manhood his father gave him a fine farm consisting of one hundred and fifty acres. This farm he immediately began to improve and cultivate, and during his active years dealt largely in cattle, finding his prin­cipal market in Pittsburgh. He became a stockholder and director of the Concord Sav­ings Bank. He was a member of the Presby­terian church, in which he served for many years as elder, and in politics was a Repub­lican, always taking an active part in public affairs, though neither desiring nor seeking office.
