General Notes: Husband - George Reed


He was a millwright by trade, and built and repaired mills for twenty years. He erected three steam mills in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, namely, at New Salem, Derry, and Hannastown. He came to Indiana County in 1839, and erected the Reed and Wallace steam mill in Young township, the second steam mill in the county, the first being at Blairsville. Beginning in 1855, he was the proprietor of the "old Clark mill," in Young township.
He was justice of the peace for one term.
