General Notes: Husband - Nicholas Coleman McGaughey

He removed in 1834 to Armstrong township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, where he purchased two hundred and thirty acres of land, which was in the woods. He cleared it out, and made of it one of the best improved farms of his day.

He was a shoe-maker and a stone mason, working at the former in the winter and the latter in the summer.
