General Notes: Husband - James McBride, Sr.

He performed military duty in the Revolutionary war.
He settled on Loyalhanna creek in what is now Loyalhanna township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, long prior to the Revolutionary war. When he took up the land on Loyalhanna creek, the nearest neighbor was ten miles distant from them. Several times they were driven from their lands by the Indians, but they always returned, and the farm was held in the McBride family until well into the twentieth century.
