General Notes: Husband - John McAfee
He removed from Franklin County, Pennsylvania, to Westmoreland County about 1801. Immediately after marriage he and his wife settled near Smithton, on the Youghiogheny River, on a farm whereon they resided a few years, and thence removed to Indiana township, Allegheny County, and there settled on a farm which Mr. McAfee bought from the late James Ross, Esq., of Pittsburgh, who was the Federal candidate for Governor of Pennsylvania in 1798, and after whom one of his sons was named.
He came to his death by accidentally drowning in a creek that flowed through his farm.
