General Notes: Husband - Timothy Green Sterrett

---

He was reared at Locke's Mills, Pennsylvania. He received the education afforded by the common schools, but in his case the work of the school room was supplemented by the gratification of a fondness for reading. He began farming on his own account on his aunt Rebecca's farm near Locke's Mills, it being a part of the original tract taken up by the first Sterrett.
He was a Whig, and later a Republican. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.
