General Notes: Husband - Joshua Portser

He took up the blacksmith trade in addition to farming and established his smithy in Delmont, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. This proved a profitable undertaking for him, and later in life he was able to purchase a farm where he spent the remainder of his life. This property was located in Hempfield township, north of Greensburg, and his death occurred on this place at the age of seventy-one years.
