General Notes: Husband - John "Steam John" Bowser

He moved from Bedford County, Pennsylvania, to Glade Run, Armstrong County. He was a miller and built a mill on his property. He was said to have been the first miller in the country to apply the use of the steam engine to a flour mill; on that account he was known as "Steam" John.
