He attended school until he was sixteen years of age, when he permanently entered business as a clerk in his father’s store, subsequently being received into partnership as junior member of E. K. Martin and Son. He was a member of Sheakleyville Lodge No. 592, I. O. O. F., and was secretary of the lodge.
