General Notes: Husband - John Martin


After a common school education in Penn township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, he engaged in the blacksmith trade, then in coal-mining, at which he was employed until 1885, when he commenced farming on the James Lenhart place. In February, 1888, he bought fifty-six acres in Wilkins township on which he then resided. He kept fifty cows and built up an extensive dairy business.
He was one of the commissioners of Wilkins township. In religious belief he and his family were Presbyterians
