From Reba Grosch: Mabel had two older brothers and two younger sisters. She only went through grade school, but believe this was common for girls at that time. Mabel was a very smart lady who had very talented hands. She could sew, crochet, knit, tat, weave and al of it perfect. She was married 3 times, first to Carl Martin, my father. The depression and his alcoholism spoiled that marriage. Then she married my stepfather, John Smenner whom I thought was wonderful. Later on she married a con artist who took her for what little bit she had.
